A Guide to Austin Hotels with Pool Passes
Sweltering temperatures are here to stay in Austin — what’s there to do except camp out by a pool? Hotels in town are offering unique and worthwhile poolside experiences to give locals a much-deserved summer daycation. Beat the heat at our favorite hotels offering pool passes below.
101 Red River St.
Fairmont Austin’s rooftop pool gives a resort-like experience to hotel guests and pool pass guests alike — plus, it’s right in the middle of the city. With an outdoor heated pool, complimentary self-parking and poolside food and drink service, this is the perfect spot for a day-long getaway for Austinites. To upgrade your stay, book a daybed or cabana, or even add a cocktail experience. Adult and child passes start at $35.

Sunseekers are invited to hang poolside at the Carpenter Hotel from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 3 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Guests can indulge in a special pool menu from Carpenters Hall, or coffee and pastries by day and drinks and snacks by night from the newly launched Carpenter Coffee Bar. Reservations are required and bookable through Resy.
South Congress Hotel

Looking for a rooftop option? South Congress Hotel could be your summer spot! Each day pass includes entry to the pool and parking. Overlooking South Congress and surrounded by gardens, guests are sure to unwind in the hot Texas sun with an afternoon spent here. Non-hotel guests can access the pool from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with $40 day passes Mondays through Thursdays and $75 day passes Fridays through Sundays. Passes can be purchased same-day up until 10 a.m.
Lakeway Resort and Spa
101 Lakeway Dr.
Located just 25 minutes from downtown Austin, Lakeway Resort and Spa is one of the more family-friendly options available. Kids have their own dedicated pool, home to a water slide and splash pad, while adults can relax at the adults only pool, which features a swim-up bar overlooking beautiful Lake Travis. Adult day passes start at $30, while kid day passes start at $20. To get a more over-the-top experience, book a cabana, starting at $300 for a group of six.
Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt
605 Davis St.
Create your own poolside experience at the Van Zandt, with options ranging from a typical day pass ($34 for adults, $15 for kids) to the Ultimate Cabana pass, which includes passes for up to 30 people and a private shaded cabana. We love this spot for their poolside food and drink service from Geraldine’s, the hotel’s signature Texas-inspired restaurant.
200 Lavaca St.
This one’s for the party people! The W Austin’s WET Deck, located on the hotel’s fourth floor, offers its day passes Sundays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Each ticket could include a spontaneous poolside party, with specialty cocktails flowing all day long. Look into renting a multi-guest cabana or bungalow for an upgraded swim experience with friends.
Hyatt Regency Austin
208 Barton Springs Rd.
The Hyatt Regency’s pool pass options are some of the city’s most affordable, with adult passes starting at just $19. Get the most out of the day with food and drinks available for purchase from Marker 10 Spirits and Cuisine, or simply relax under a shady umbrella on the hotel’s poolside sundeck.
1308 E. 4th St.
Hotel Magdalena, one of our favorite staycation spots in town, launched their Sunbathers Society last year. Passes for the upscale pool experience are available from 3 to 10 p.m. weekdays at $30 per person. Guests can enjoy a delightful menu from Magdalena Bar, including snacks like the Smash Burger and Tuna Crudo with poolside drinks like the Summer House Shandy and Lady Bird Spritz.
