The Best Flower Shops in Austin
Spring has sprung! With Mother’s Day fast approaching, flower shops around town are ready to deliver on all of your floral needs. Although the city also boasts many florists specifically for special occasions and deliveries — some of our favorites are David Kurio, Earl Grey, and Remi & Gold — we’ve focused here on shops you can walk to grab a bouquet for that special someone.

Freytag’s Florist
2211 West Anderson Lane
The 20,000-square foot Freytag’s Florist beckons guests in with an extensive array of blooms fit for a dining room table or a large event. The family run-business has served Austin customers for 50 years, originally started by Ken Freytag in 1974, and has called its Anderson Lane location home for more than 20 of those years. Between their excellent customer service and consistently high-quality flowers, Freytag Florist has developed a stellar reputation as one of Austin’s top flower shops.

House of Margo Blair
1512 West 35th St.
Primarily regarded for their impeccable special event designs, the House of Margot Blair’s flower shop is a perfect place to pop in for a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind bouquet. Founder, CEO and Creative Director Carly Blair has curated a whimsical and luxurious aesthetic for her business’s florals, and you can participate in the shop’s monthly Beginner Flowers+Cocktail Workshops to learn how to make your very own floral creation.

Flor Keeps
8534 South Congress Ave.
Flor Keeps blows guests away with preserved and dried flowers that are every bit as beautiful as a freshly picked bouquet. Flowers are harvested at the peak of natural beauty, before undergoing a process that includes absorbing a biodegradable and plant-based preservation formula, resulting in flowers that will last for months with minimal upkeep! Plus, the shop has partnered with Well Aware to contribute to the nonprofit’s mission to provide solutions to water scarcity and contamination in Tanzania and Kenya.

Austin Flower Co.
1612 West 35th St.
This one’s for the DIYers! Austin Flower Co. operates as the wholesaler to many floral shops and special event florists in town, but also as a shop for locals to peruse and create their own bouquets. Best known for their diverse selection of flowers from New Zealand, Italy, France, Mexico, and more, all blooms are sourced directly from farms, making them as affordable as possible for customers.

Malina Flowers

We particularly love the shop’s hand-tied bouquets, gorgeous arrays of flowers and greens tied together with a ribbon bow, and hat box arrangements, bouquets arranged in a signature Malina Flowers hat box. The shop also offers “Everlasting Roses,” real roses that last for one to three years with low maintenance.
