The Best Flower Shops in Austin

Spring has sprung! With Mother’s Day fast approaching, flower shops around town are ready to deliver on all of your floral needs. Although the city also boasts many florists specifically for special occasions and deliveries — some of our favorites are David Kurio, Earl Grey, and Remi & Gold — we’ve focused here on shops you can walk to grab a bouquet for that special someone.

The 20,000-square foot Freytag’s Florist beckons guests in with an extensive array of blooms fit for a dining room table or a large event. The family run-business has served Austin customers for 50 years, originally started by Ken Freytag in 1974, and has called its Anderson Lane location home for more than 20 of those years. Between their excellent customer service and consistently high-quality flowers, Freytag Florist has developed a stellar reputation as one of Austin’s top flower shops.

Flor Keeps

8534 South Congress Ave.

Flor Keeps blows guests away with preserved and dried flowers that are every bit as beautiful as a freshly picked bouquet. Flowers are harvested at the peak of natural beauty, before undergoing a process that includes absorbing a biodegradable and plant-based preservation formula, resulting in flowers that will last for months with minimal upkeep! Plus, the shop has partnered with Well Aware to contribute to the nonprofit’s mission to provide solutions to water scarcity and contamination in Tanzania and Kenya.
