Experience Mediterranean Flavors in Austin’s Rosedale Neighborhood at Gràcia

Escape to the Seaside Without Leaving Town

Grácia Austin Mediterranean Restaurant

Gràcia, the new culinary addition by the Rosedale-centric team behind Gusto Italian Kitchen, joins a small but mighty culinary scene in one of Austin’s most beloved communities.

The Rosedale neighborhood, just north of the University of Texas campus, is renowned for its residential atmosphere and charmingly tranquil pace.

With dining establishments like casual Uchi sibling Uchiko and must-visit beer mecca Draught House embodying the relaxed vibe, Gràcia is poised to blend in seamlessly.

Mediterranean Cuisine, Gràcia Style

Gràcia is named after Barri de Gràcia, an artsy Barcelona neighborhood known for hip cafes and beautiful historic architecture.

The abundance of Southern European and Middle Eastern ingredients in the Mediterranean-inspired cuisine is a fitting tribute to the region’s culinary traditions.

Executive Chef Jason Tallent focuses heavily on seafood and doesn’t shy away from creative applications.

For example, Gràcia’s spin on gnocchi bolognese trades pork and veal for calamari and adds heat courtesy of North African harissa.

You’ll also find shrimp wrapped in serrano ham, roasted eggplant seasoned with lemon, za’atar and aleppo chili oil. Add housemade flatbread with green chickpea hummus to the meal for the full effect.

The Stars of Gràcia’s Drink Menu

The restaurant’s carefully-curated wine list features bottles sourced from Mediterranean-adjacent countries like France, Italy and – of course – Spain.

The beverage team at Gràcia prioritizes small producers, both for the wine selections and the spirits in its lively seasonal cocktails.

Independent liquors and liqueurs are highlighted in the cocktail menu.

Dancing In the Moonlight combines Matusalem Platino and Gran Reserva rums, Rothman & Winter orchard peach liqueur, Tempus Fugit liqueur de violettes and lime. The Lil’ Poteet mixes Still Austin gin and Contratto aperitif with strawberries from Poteet, Texas, citrus, egg, cream and soda.

Gràcia also dedicates a section to Spanish sangrias and refreshing spritzes. Get both for half price during its Tuesday through Friday happy hour.

Go Seaside in Rosedale

Gràcia’s aesthetic is designed to evoke a Mediterranean seaside vibe. The open and airy space has plenty of natural light, featuring blonde wood, basket lamp shades and commissioned artwork.

There’s a spacious outdoor patio that welcomes well-behaved, on-leash dogs.

Gràcia‘s beautiful Mediterranean-inspired meals, made with local ingredients and paired with thoughtfully-chosen beverages, make it an instant Rosedale classic and a worthy foodie destination.
