Austin Restaurants Offering Curb-Side Pick-Up and New Delivery Options Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Austinites are avoiding crowds, minimizing contact with others and working from home as COVID-19 continues to shake up the world. Last week, Mayor Steve Adler announced a ban on gatherings of more than 10 people, closing all bar and restaurant dining rooms in the area. Some residents may have stocked up but are craving a favorite comfort food or maybe the lines and empty shelves at the grocery stores have kept them from shopping. As the Coronavirus pandemic takes its toll and restaurants take an economic hit, many are adjusting their services in an effort to earn business and serve loyal customers. Picking up your next meal not only helps local small businesses and employees but also takes a bit of the pressure off of the hardworking folks at grocery stores.

Here’s an updated list of Austin restaurants with new takeout and delivery options implemented in the last few days:

For the first time ever, Ramen Tatsu-Ya has their entire menu available for to-go orders. And they’re serving up small bites, big bowls of noodles and broth, sides, drinks and more from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., 7 days a week, at three Austin locations. Order online, pick up, take home and enjoy.

Have a steak dinner delivered to your home from Bob’s Steak & Chop House. The award-winning downtown restaurant has expanded their delivery services to include zip codes, 78701-78705. And yes, liquor, beer and wine are available with the purchase of a meal. 

Fonda San Miguel has a curb-side menu of cochinita pibil, chuletas or pollo rostizado with pick-up hours from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. All orders come with Mexican rice, black beans, corn tortillas, chips and salsa. Gusto Italian Kitchen is family style meals that serve three to four or six to eight people. Meals are available for pick-up at periodic dates. P. Terry’s and Taco Ranch locations will now offer delivery, with Favor and DoorDash, and drive-thru service. The Congress Avenue location will accept online pick-up and to-go orders. You can also order online and pick up at a drive-thru if you’re craving a burger and fries. Hours of operation and services may vary by location. Check P. Emmer & Rye’s to-go and delivery menu is made of farm-focused favorites like their cacio e pepe, aged wagyu beef tartare and spiced carrot cake. Don’t forget the wine! Fill up on fresh fruit by placing an online, takeout or curbside pickup order at Blenders & Bowls. Patrons can also place orders via third party delivery apps. In the event of a mandated closure, Blenders & Bowls will deliver orders placed within a 5 mile radius for free (applies to all locations).

Place an order via Favor for free delivery from MezzeMe. The restaurant’s Triangle and Drag locations are also accepting online or call-in orders for curbside pickup.

Go online or call The Cavalier to order some of their Southern fare. The self-proclaimed “neighborhood dive bar” will deliver to those that live within a 3-mile radius of the restaurant.

34th Street Cafe and Wine Bar has take-out available from their menu of small plates, pizzas, salads and mains like salmon, shrimp, lamb, steak and chicken picata. Call 512 371 3400.

SPREAD & CO. offers their breakfast and lunch menu as well as grocery staples like hummus, pimento cheese, cookie dough, bread, biscuits, wine and more. You can pick up or get free delivery in the 78703 and 78731 zip codes. Their normal hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Order by calling 512 814 2002 now or check their site to order online.

Craving enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos or queso? Santa Rita Tex Mex Cantina offers takeout of their extensive menu. Entrees come with one free kid’s meal when you pick up your tasty Tex Mex meal.

East Side Chinese eatery Old Thousand is now offering free delivery to patrons within a 3 to 5-mile radius of the restaurant. Takeout and curbside pickup can be ordered online.

What’s more comforting than a bowl of soup? Maybe the first sip of a fresh smoothie in the morning. But hey, why not have both? The Soup Peddler has six locations around town offering healthy take out options throughout the day. However, the business is going cashless and asks that customers order online to reduce transactions.

Wine lovers will receive 5 percent off a bottle or 10 percent off a case when they place a to-go order at Andiamo’s. Beloved pizzeria Home Slice will be exclusively offering pick-up orders made by phone, online and walk-up through takeout windows. Get comfort delivered to your door through delivery apps, Favor and Foodee, or have it brought to your car by calling ahead.

El Chilito‘s full menu of tacos, breakfast, Chipotle chicken soup and more is available at three locations around town through window service, online orders and delivery.

Get breakfast or lunch on the go by ordering from Patika Coffee or Patika Luncheonette online here. Pickup and curbside options are available at the South Lamar location.

Enjoy Austin’s Pizza pick-up only special where you can find deals such as a large cheese pizza for $7 or a large pepperoni for $8. Request curbside pick-up by calling upon arrival. Delivery is available across the city and orders can be placed online or by phone.

Fresa’s South First location may be closed until further notice, but guests can still get a dose of delicious Mexican food by ordering to-go from their 9th and Lamar location. Walk-up, drive-thru, order online or call 512 428 5077 to order. Turn to Favor if you’d like your chicken al carbon delivered.

Place an order for pickup at LORO or get options such as their Char Siew Pork Belly delivered straight to your door by opening DoorDash or Favor. Keep an eye out for some of the newly launched items on the menu when ordering online.

Uchi has a fantastic deal. The upscale sushi spot is offering a limited curb-side pick-up menu of cool and hot tastings, wine, beer and sake. Orders come with a $25 gift card you can use at their North Lamar restaurant when it reopens. Delivery with DoorDash is coming soon.

New American restaurant Launderette is currently to-go only for all meal periods. Call them up at 512 382 1599 to place an order. Just say the word and a member of their team will be happy to bring food to vehicles upon guests’ arrival.

Grab your to-go order from Sour Duck Market, which is offering curb-side pick-up from online orders or by calling 512 394 5776. Don’t feel like leaving? Use the Favor app to have it delivered. From your morning pastry to family-sized dinner options, they’ve got you covered.

Scholz Garten has curb-side pick-up and delivery through Doordash of their MASH (Mobile Austin Sausage Haus) menu. Lunch boxes are $10 each. Choose wurst, wurst holder, toppings, sauces and side. For each of these purchases an additional boxed lunch will be given to firefighters, police officers and medical staff. Dim-sum restaurant Emmer & Rye is helping customers have a tasty meal at home with a special to-go menu, available for curb-side pick-up and delivery. Rainey Street residents can have it dropped of for free while Central Austin deliveries are $5, with all gratuity going toward’s the eatery’s Employee Emergency Fund.

If the barbecue cravings hit during your self-isolation, Lambert’s has your back. Available for curb-side pick-up from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., their smoked meat-filled menu has all the necessities, including classic sides by the pint. Just call 512 494 1500.

It can be hard to eat healthy while confined to your home all day. Luckily Vinaigrette is keeping its doors open by offering delivery and take out for customers needing more greens. For delivery, the restaurant recommends ordering from them directly as their trained drivers are taking specific safety precautions such as handling all orders with gloves from start to finish.

All of COVER 3’s Austin locations will be implementing takeout services, including COVER 2. Select from the full menu any day of the week, including $45 Family Meal packages that feed 4-6 and feature everything from sliders to enchiladas. The Peached Tortilla is supporting its staff by continuing to offer take out via online order, phone call or email to mail@thepeachedtortilla.com. They’ve also launched timely specials like 2 for $5 beers and Family Meal Delivery options, which feed two adults and one to three children and is available Tuesday through Sunday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Get your energy needs taken care of at Austin Java, which is offering its full array of coffee-based favorites alongside a menu of breakfast and lunch dishes, available from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. With locations around Austin, customers can walk-in for to-go orders or have it delivered through Favor.

All of Kerbey Lane Cafe’s locations are open for delivery or pick-up, so pancakes and queso are just a click away. In an effort to support the community the best way they can, the Austin staple is implementing Kids Eat Free all day, everyday. For every one adult meal purchased, Kerbey Lane will gift patrons with a free kids meal. Stop by any location between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to place a pick-up order.

Experience barbecue like no other by placing an order for pick-up at The Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood. The meat-centric eatery is showing appreciation for customer support by slashing 25 percent off all online orders. Use the discount code “TOGETHER” at checkout to reap the rewards.

While closing earlier than normal, Jo’s Coffee downtown and South Congress locations will continue to serve customers via to-go menu. Kick start your morning with a much-needed coffee and grab a sandwich for lunch. 

Pork belly and edamame are still on the menu at East Side King. Get your hands on some Japanese comfort food by placing an online order, picking up in person or having your meal delivered to you via a third party app. No matter the route there’s a delicious plate with your name on it. 

Satisfy your sweet tooth at Bakery Lorraine by adding a box of “Emergency Cookies” to your online order for only $8. For additional convenience, the bakery has put together a few options for those looking for a full meal on the go. Pick-up orders at their Domain NORTHSIDE location on Rock Rose through Chow Now and Favor apps.

Classes may be cancelled but brunch doesn’t have to be. Buttermilk biscuits and French toast are still being cooked up at South Austin restaurant Mattie’s. The eatery has curated a special to-go menu which guests can order daily between noon to 8 p.m. Call ahead at 512 444 1888.

Lick Honest Ice Creams is committed to keeping dessert delicious. The ice cream shop will continue to operate within normal business hours but only 10 customers at a time will be allowed in the location and sampling will be off limits. Lick is also offering take-out and delivery via third party apps to make getting your hands on their sweet treats even easier. 

Contemporary diner Joann’s Fine Foods is also ensuring the safety of their patrons by providing call-ahead, curb-side delivery daily from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Head down to SoCo to pick up guacamole and enchiladas and enjoy them from the comfort of your home. Get your meal to go at Shake Shack by placing an online order, using the Shack App or delivering from a third party. The burger chain is still operating under normal business hours, so crinkle-cut fries and custard cravings remain satisfied. 

American eatery Contigo has partnered with Tiny Pies and Lick Honest Ice Creams to give you the best of everything. They’ve created a Family Meal kit that feeds a party of four for $50. Enjoy a whole roasted chicken and top your Tiny Pies off with a scoop of Caramel Salt Lick. Place an order here and pick it up at Contigo’s drive-thru. 

Local favorite smoothie joint JuiceLand is ensuring no one is left behind by offering online orders, drive-thru availability, delivery services and in-store grab and go options. If one juice isn’t enough, stock up and save 10 to 20 percent by ordering cold-pressed juices in bulk through the company’s website. Bulk orders will be ready three days after an order is placed. 

East Austin farm-to-fork restaurant Eden East may have closed their doors but their farm is still active. Keep the fridge full with fresh produce by visiting the East Side Farm Stand from Wednesday through Saturday. For $20 and $30 you’ll get a bagged stuffed with farm fresh leafy greens and herbs like spinach, dill, fennel and more. 

Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille is offering mouthwatering deals on menu items. Guests wanting the full dinner experience can pick from two, three or four-course options priced at $32, $45 and $50, while those keeping it light for lunch can opt for a $29 2-course meal. Tso Chinese Delivery will continue to offer online ordering and free delivery from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tso will also be launching #TsoGiving to provide meals for Austinites who are struggling to put food on the table. All Tony C’s locations will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. for pickup by curbside or delivery through Favor, UberEats and Chow-Now. The abbreviated food menu will include Italian favorites like pizza and pasta. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase. Tony C’s “Feed 4 for $40” deal consists of a choice of an entree (Baked Ziti, Spaghetti & Meatballs, Fettuccine Alfredo or Chicken Parmesan), a salad (House or Caesar) and eight garlic knots.

From 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., The League will also be offering a “Feed 4 for $40” deal for families which will include an entree (Fat Tire Fish & Chips, Herbed Rotisserie Chicken, Club Sandwich Platter or Burger Bar), a side (House Salad, Hand Cut Fries, Ginger Broccoli or Yukon Mashers) and four buttermilk biscuits. Pickup by curbside or delivery is available through Favor, UberEats and Chow-Now.

Both North Italia locations will be offering take-out and delivery through DoorDash.
