Attendees of the CASA Superhero Run Put Their Best Foot Forward for Local Kids
The 15th annual fun run for CASA of Travis County helped raise funds to support children who have experienced abuse or neglect
The CASA Superhero Run returned in full force on September 22 at Circuit of The Americas! This year’s event was extra special as it marked the 15th anniversary of the CASA Superhero Run.
The event, which is the opening race of the Austin Distance Challenge, featured a fun-filled morning comprised of a 5K, a Kids Fun Run, a family-friendly festival, and a costume contest. The star-studded costume contest judge panel included Hannah Rucker from KVUE, Trevor Scott from CBS Austin’s “We Are Austin,” Susan Castle from KUTX, and Anastacia Anderson from Heroes of Texas.
Attendees also had the opportunity to engage with fan-favorite festival vendors, such as Amy’s Ice Cream, Ruta Maya Coffee, Heroes of Texas, Mom and Pops Popsicles, Lone Star Character Entertainment, and more. Other highlights of the super morning included a scavenger hunt, a dance party featuring the best tunes by DJ Tank, and fun superhero costumes in between.
Most importantly, attendees and supporters helped raise funds and awareness to provide children who have experienced abuse or neglect with a powerful voice – their very own CASA volunteer who advocates for their safety, well-being, and opportunities to thrive.
The CASA Superhero Run supports four local CASA Programs: CASA of Travis County, CASA of Williamson County, CASA of Bastrop, Lee, and Fayette Counties & CASA of Central Texas (Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe & Hays Counties). Among these programs, nearly 2,000 children are served each year by hundreds of volunteer advocates.
