The Most Anticipated Luxury Hotels Coming to Austin and the Texas Hill Country

A look at the high-end hotels and resorts set to open across Central Texas

Big changes are coming for Austin and Texas Hill Country with a slew of luxury hotels and resorts slated to emerge this year and beyond. From a bucolic wellness destination set on 600 acres to a sustainably chic hotel taking cues from Waller Creek and Lady Bird Lake with that they’ve-thought-of-everything vibe, here’s where you’ll want to hang your hat.

400 Comal Street

Expected Opening: Summer 2026

Conceived by Elysian Real Estate Group in partnership with Baldridge Architects — the team behind restaurants including Canje and Hestia — the sophisticated East Austin hideaway is set to debut with 20 rooms, including six suites, each with its own distinctive design. Hand-selected artwork will spotlight local and Texas-based artists, nodding to the city’s history, arts and culture. For Elysian Real Estate Group founder and CVO Walker Molinare, the project is deeply personal. “I was born and raised in Austin, and bohème is, at its core, a love letter to the city that shaped me,” he explains. “It’s a way of honoring the Austin I grew up in — the eclectic, creative, slightly rebellious spirit that made this place feel so unique, while also acknowledging how the city continues to evolve.” Other highlights include a lobby bar and grocer, plus a rooftop bar with sweeping views.

Canyon Ranch Austin

600 Moonlight Bend

Expected Opening: Fall 2026

The sprawling, 600-acre wellness oasis features 134 private residential homes designed by Lake Flato Architects — whose projects include Hotel Saint Augustine and Austin Public Library’s Central Library — along with 37 treatment rooms, a salon, whirlpools, saunas and steam rooms, making it the largest spa in Texas. Choose from 35 daily mind-, body- and spirit-focused activities, meander along miles of hiking trails, or break a sweat in the 15,000-square-foot fitness barn with a movement studio, yoga deck, recovery lab and outdoor workout lawn.

Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country

Expected Opening: 2028

Located just a two-minute drive from downtown Fredericksburg, the 60-room hotel — the brand’s first property in Texas — will feature 42 multi-bedroom resort villas, 50 private residences and five dining venues, including a flagship restaurant helmed by lauded chef Dominique Crenn of three-Michelin-starred Atelier Crenn. For the ultimate recharge, check into the expansive 11,000-square-foot spa or spend the day at one of two pools.

Expected Opening: August 2026

The 252-room eco-luxe hotel draws cues from nearby Waller Creek and Lady Bird Lake, with lush greenery and living walls that evoke an enchanted greenhouse. Guestrooms and suites feature organic cotton linens, live potted plants, HEPA air filters, recycled glassware, filtered water taps, yoga mats, walk-in showers with timers for guided water consumption and bath amenities by Bamford. Additional highlights include a guest-only rooftop pool with reservable cabanas, a dedicated wellness floor with a 2,000-square-foot fitness center and Bamford Wellness Spa, and three eateries, including Alteño, led by Michelin-starred chef Johnny Curiel.

Hotel Trinity, Autograph Collection

311 E. Fifth Street

Expected Opening: Fall 2026

Consider it a new home base in the heart of downtown. The sleek hotel features 258 guestrooms, including 20 residential-style luxury suites, plus a glam lobby and spacious rooms appointed with plush custom robes and Salt & Stone apothecary goods. Hotel perks include an upscale seafood restaurant and oyster bar, as well as a guest-only rooftop pool deck lined with four cabanas.

Amansanu

Pre-construction

In true Aman form, the ultra-dreamy property — the brand’s sixth in the U.S. — is poised to become a destination in its own right as its first ranch-inspired retreat, located less than 90 minutes north of Austin. Framed by rolling hills and verdant landscape, the remote property is designed by acclaimed Seattle-based architecture firm Olson Kundig and will feature several dining venues, an Aman Spa and Wellness center, fully equipped horse stables, hiking trails and three- to eight-bedroom private residences.

The Standard, Austin

Expected Opening: Spring 2027

Reconceived by Hyatt and Timberline Real Estate Partners and Michael Hsu Office of Architecture (ATX Cocina and Hotel Ella), the 83-room modern oasis will serve as the brand’s first property in the Lone Star State. The new hideaway, occupying the former South Congress Hotel, will include a rooftop pool and bar, numerous dining options and bespoke social wellness experiences.
