Social Hour: Book Release Celebration for Janice Omadeke’s “Mentorship Unlocked”
Guests gathered in downtown Austin for an engaging party where Janice Omadeke shared insights about her writing process and the impact of her book on career development
On April 1, local thought leaders and distinguished guests gathered in downtown Austin at the Indeed Tower where sweeping views of the city skyline provided a backdrop for an exciting book release party. Chris Hyams, CEO of Indeed, hosted the event that honored Janice Omadeke’s release of Mentorship Unlocked: The Science and Art of Setting Yourself Up for Success, published by Wiley.
An official SXSW Book selection, Mentorship Unlocked examines mentor relationships in today’s fast-changing environment to help one boost their career path. The book includes Omadeke’s personal anecdotes, and real-world examples, offering step-by-step tips for building meaningful connections with mentors.
Guests enjoyed cocktails and light bites while socializing with Omadeke, Austin leaders, and friends of the media. The event included an inspirational chat between Hyams and Omadeke, followed by book signings and the opportunity for more lively socializing.
Omadeke is the exited CEO and founder of The Mentor Method, a software company designed to drive transformative change within company cultures through the power of mentorship. The data-driven Mentor’s Method’s software program aims to help fight against stereotypes in the mentoring process.
Omadeke earned recognition as one of Entrepreneur Magazine’s 100 Women of Influence in 2022. She has been featured in such publications such as Forbes, the Harvard Business Review, The Austin Business Journal, Black Enterprise, and more. She holds a PMP certification and has received a certification in Entrepreneurship from MIT.
