FORE Kids ATX Surpasses Fundraising Goals to Benefit Children & Families in Central Texas
This two-day charity event hosted by Sergio and Angela Garcia returned for its second year with big success
FORE Kids ATX, the two-day charity event founded by Masters champion Sergio Garcia and his wife, Angela Garcia, returned for this month to the Omni Barton Creek, with this year’s celebrations surpassing their fundraising goals for children and families across central Texas. FORE Kids ATX 2023 benefitted organizations near and dear to Sergio and Angela’s hearts, including Dell Children’s Medical Center, Foster Village, The Muny Conservancy and The UGLI Foundation – organizations dedicated to providing youth medical care, support for foster children, anti-bullying solutions and youth golf community programming.
Sergio Garcia noted, “It’s truly an honor to bring so many people together in our hometown to raise money for our charity partners.”
The festivities kicked off with Par-TEE on Friday, Dec. 1 where various guests gathered to raise awareness and funds for children and families in need across central Texas. Notable guests include Haylie Duff Rosenberg & Matt Rosenberg, Becca Tobin Martin & Zach Martin and Gen Padalecki & Jerad Padalecki – to name a few.
The evening featured a cocktail reception and dinner with culinary showcases from renowned chefs such as Tyson Cole and a live music performance from artist BRELAND, as well as personal interviews with golfing legends Sergio Garcia, Talor Gooch, David Feherty and more, moderated by American television host and presenter, Chris Harrison.
FORE Kids ATX continued with a golf tournament on Saturday, Dec. 2, where 120 professional golfers, public figures and athlete scratch golfers – including Patrick Reed, Bryson DeChambeu, Harold Varner III and more – gathered on the Fazio Canyons Course at Omni Barton Creek to golf in the name of good.
Sergio & Angela Garcia are passionate about supporting Central Texas families
Sergio Garcia was born in Spain and has been a professional golfer since 1999. A current participant in the LIV Invitational Series, he has had an awe-inspiring golfing career, winning 26 international tournaments and spending much of his career in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking. He also holds the record for points scored in the Ryder Cup with 28.5 points to his name.
Garcia now lives in Austin with his wife, Angela, who attended the University of Texas and played for the university’s golf team. She later served as an on-air reporter and host for FOX Sports, NBC, Golf Channel and SiriusXM, where she had her own radio show.
As dedicated parents to two children, the Garcias are passionate about supporting children and families in Texas through The Sergio & Angela Garcia Foundation. The annual FORE Kids ATX benefits the couple’s foundation and its various charity projects.
“Through FORE Kids ATX, we aim to better children’s lives and their surrounding communities,” said Angela Garcia. “By providing funding for health care, anti-bullying solutions and youth golf community programming, we hope to uplift children, regardless of the ability to pay, with a special focus on foster children and families.”
