West Chelsea Contemporary provided a colorful and elegant setting for the Austin magazine's September/October issue launch event
In celebration of TRIBEZA magazine’s latest September/October issue, guests gathered at West Chelsea Contemporary (WCC) for a lovely evening full of art and community connection. Attendees included contributors, writers, photographers, advertisers and others who helped collaborate on the recent TRIBEZA fall issue that highlights Architecture + Design in Austin.
An inside look at West Chelsea Contemporary’s latest show
Austin’s contemporary art gallery, WCC, is known for showcasing a mix of emerging artists and museum-caliber exhibitions, and this event offered an early peek into the latest gallery exhibition, Austin International Art Fair – Featuring Gil Bruvel. This exhibition, on view through September 29, features the work of internationally acclaimed sculptor Gil Bruvel, but it also includes works from 42 artists from 22 countries. The impressive roster includes Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí and Alexander Calder. Contemporary Chinese artists such as Yue Minjun, Ai Weiwei, and Zhang Xiaogang are also included along with International Street Art icons Aboudia, Fika Leon and Vhils.
Festive food and drink for TRIBEZA’s fall issue soiree
The party was especially festive thanks to TRIBEZA’s generous partners providing delicious bites and beverages. Spread & Co. set up a lavish charcuterie spread with savory snacks, while SusieCakes indulged everyone’s sweet tooth with cupcakes and cookies. Beverages were flowing thanks to Salvation Spirits‘ signature cocktails and BOXT‘s array of approachable award-winning wines.
Nonprofit partner, CASA of Travis County, was also on hand to share more information about their mission to advocate for minors in the child welfare system through the work of dedicated volunteers.
TRIBEZA’s September/October Issue: Architecture + Design
With an overarching focus on architecture and design, the TRIBEZA fall issue delves into the delicate dance between the visionaries and craftsmen who create bespoke buildings and homes that add to the dynamic character of Austin. Stories of transformation can be found throughout this issue — magic moments made at Allyson Garro’s Coco Coquette boutique, a new mural adorning the Texas Farmers’ Market space in Mueller and a look at how a 1950s pharmacy in Crestview has been reshaped into a hub of revelry as The Violet Crown Wine Bar & Coffee Shop. Also, browse the robust Home Design Guide and Fall Wellness Guide.
