The Clarksville district has just gotten a little sweeter. SusieCakes, a beloved neighborhood bakery known for its nostalgic, scratch-made treats, has opened its second Austin location at 1111 West 6th Street. This marks SusieCakes’ second Austin location, following the success of their first shop in the West Wood neighborhood at 3267 Bee Caves Rd.
Founded in 2006 by Susan “Susie” Sarich, SusieCakes has become a go-to for those craving a taste of classic American desserts. With locations across California, Texas, and Tennessee, the bakery has built a reputation for offering homemade sweets made fresh daily using only ingredients one would find in a 1950s pantry. The menu takes inspiration from Sarich’s grandmothers, whose timeless recipes help evoke a sense of nostalgia and comfort.
