Drift Out West is an 11-acre gathering place on Onion Creek in Driftwood, Texas, designed and built by the landscape architects at ADLA Studio and shaped by the ecology and geology of the Texas Hill Country. It sits at the threshold where Austin transitions to the Edwards Plateau: limestone, oaks, wildlife and a slower rhythm. Guests host celebrations, retreats and shared meals at farm tables, hike the creek-side trail and watch birds and sunsets from the elevated back porch. The interiors draw from the American West, using warm materials and a quieter desert-modern sensibility. It is an enduring place shaped by the land, designed for people.
