Austin Leads on List of Top Places to Stay in Texas
Yelp ranked 100 of the best places to stay in Texas while on vacation
Austin loves visitors, and visitors love Austin. In a 2016 report, the Texas capital is listed as one of the top places to vacation in the U.S. And according to austintexas.org, a site all about visiting the Live Music Capital of the World, more than 30 million people arrive in town each year to conduct business, visit friends and family or enjoy all that Austin has to offer.
Where do all those people stay? Well, those looking for vacation lodging certainly have plenty of options. On Thursday, Yelp revealed its list of the top 100 places to stay in Texas — and Austin had not only the No. 1 location, the Fairmont Austin hotel, but also the most places on the list.

You might be wondering how a top 100 list was determined. “To create the Top 100 Places to Stay in Texas list, we identified hotel and travel businesses with a high concentration of reviews mentioning ‘vacation’ and related terms,” Yelp wrote in a press release announcing their findings. “We then ranked those businesses by total volume and review ratings, among other factors.”
