Alteño by Chef Johnny Curiel will open to the public Sept. 3 at 1 Hotel Austin, bringing the chef’s fire-driven approach to Mexican cuisine from Jalisco’s Highlands to downtown Austin. The campestre-style restaurant will feature cevichería-inspired raw dishes alongside vegetables and proteins prepared over an expansive hearth, honoring Curiel’s family culinary traditions.
