What

Danish painter Magnus returns to Austin for beyond brushstrokes, his third solo exhibition with Unchained.Art Contemporary Gallery. Bold, figurative, and carrying a Pop Art sensibility, his work rewards a slower, closer read, layered with storytelling, humor, and hidden detail. Human figures and animals carry his recurring preoccupations: their strength and their personality. In this new work, he reaches back into the denser, more surreal energy of his earlier paintings, letting a little more fantasy return. Magnus travels from Copenhagen to be present for the opening. On view through December 2.
