Dimmitt Contemporary Art presents “REMEDIES,” a solo exhibition by Oakland-based artist Carmen McNall, on view at the gallery’s Austin location from May 3 through May 31. The exhibition opens with a public reception on Saturday, May 3 from 6–8 p.m.
Blending painting and wood-carving, McNall’s work explores the spiritual and restorative power of nature, expressed through faceless female figures that embody healers, caregivers, and vessels of generational wisdom. Through rooted stances and quilt-like patterns, her subjects become both part of the landscape and symbols of it—grounded, intuitive, and deeply connected to the earth.
