First Light Books invites guests to an inspiring night of food, stories, and conversation as acclaimed chef Roy Choi visits Austin to celebrate the release of his newest cookbook, “THE CHOI OF COOKING.” Hosted at the historic State Theatre on Tuesday, April 22, Choi will be joined on stage by legendary pitmaster and longtime friend Aaron Franklin for an engaging discussion on culinary creativity, cultural influences, and the roots of Choi’s flavorful journey.
Known for launching the iconic Kogi BBQ truck, Choi brings a bold, community-driven spirit to everything he creates. Together with Franklin—James Beard Award winner and author—this dynamic duo promises an evening as rich and unforgettable as the dishes they’re known for.
