What
PrintAustin Collective’s invitational exhibition “Refusing Erasure” showcases woodcuts and linocuts by Nicaraguan-born printmaker Carlos Barberena. The exhibit, running from January 16 to February 9 at Link Pin Art, highlights Barberena’s exploration of social, political, and environmental justice through vivid prints that reflect oppression, resilience, and interconnected global struggles.
Known for his use of pop culture imagery and themes of diaspora, Barberena seeks to demystify the “foreign” experience and bridge divides. The opening reception will take place on January 18 from 5–7 p.m., with extended hours on January 16 for East Side Third Thursday from 6–8 p.m.
