What
Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks’ “Sally & Tom” is a sharp, funny play-within-a-play exploring the mythologized relationship between Sally Hemings and Thomas Jefferson. As a scrappy theater company rehearses a historical drama, the chaotic process reveals hilarious contradictions, personal tensions and questions with no easy answers. Moving between present-day rehearsals and scenes from the play itself, “Sally & Tom” turns American mythmaking on its head.
