First Light Books will host a “Literary Lark” on Saturday, March 29, from noon to 6 p.m., transforming the area outside the North Loop bookstore into a vibrant, family-friendly block party celebrating books, community and local creatives.
The event will feature food from Wiener System and Cold Ones Pops, a full drink menu curated by the First Light team, face painting and bubble machines for children, and a 3 p.m. author reading highlighting debut novels by Lucas Schaefer and Callie Collins. At 5 p.m., musician Ryan Sambol will take the stage for a live outdoor performance.
Throughout the day, attendees are encouraged to participate in a book drive benefiting Inside Books Project and the Literacy Coalition of Central Texas. First Light members who donate one or more books will receive a free FLB diner mug, while non-members will earn special perks with a “Members For a Day” token.
