The Contemporary Austin’s Jones Center will host an artist panel discussion titled “Portrait Mode” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at 700 Congress Ave.

Presented in conjunction with Jiab Prachakul’s exhibition “Sweet Solitude,” the event will highlight Texas-based artists who create portraiture influenced by themes of fashion, identity, self-image and fantasy. Panelists include Tsz Kam, Jieun Beth Kim, Dawn Okoro and Alexandra Valenti. Emmy Laursen, curator of public programs, will moderate the discussion.
