Underdog is closing its doors with one final dachshund-filled celebration. On Saturday, March 1, the acclaimed wine bar and bottle shop will team up with @atx.weenies for an afternoon of wine, snacks, and pups in party attire. Founded by Claudia Lee and Richard Hargreave, Underdog has been recognized by Austin Monthly, The New York Times, and World’s 50 Best for its contributions to Austin’s dining scene. As part of its farewell, a portion of proceeds from the final week of service will support the Pasadena Humane Society, aiding pets affected by the Eaton Fire. While Underdog will close after its final service on March 8, the owners plan to open a new restaurant in the same space, with a tentative opening in May 2025.
