Weird Winter at the Blanton Museum of Art

This holiday season, the Blanton Museum of Art is delighting visitors with a new whimsical installation from Steve Parker — renowned Austin artist, musician, and longtime Blanton collaborator. Titled Weird Winter, the two-part installation will activate the museum’s new vaulted entryways in both the Check-In and gallery building. Visitors can expect brass instruments, musical snow globes, marionette-animated trees, carols, and a jolly good experience.

Weird Winter will open at the Blanton’s Second Saturday on December 9, 3–8 p.m. It is included with museum admission and will be on view for a limited time through January 7, 2024 during the museum’s opening hours:
Tuesday–Friday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m.–8 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Closed Mondays

Special closures: Closed Sunday, December 24 and Sunday, December 31.
