Once the iconic Americana Theater—and later immortalized in “Dazed and Confused”—Austin’s Yarborough Branch Library is celebrating its 60th birthday with a night that nods to its stylish past. On Friday, April 25, from 6 to 8 p.m., the community is invited to time travel back to 1965 for a free, family-friendly party honoring six decades of local history.
Guests can expect a groovy mix of live soul music from The Soulphonics, classic movie theater snacks, a screening of “The Love Bug,” retro crafts and a themed photo booth. Vintage attire is highly encouraged, and all ages are welcome to join in celebrating the legacy of a space.
