L. Majors Jewelers Marks 15 Years of Bringing Luxury Jewelry & Timepieces to Austin
With five generations at the helm, a quality curation ensures the family’s legacy

For more than 100 years, L. Majors Jewelers has curated the finest, most exquisite and unique collection of jewelry, timepieces and giftware across Texas. For the last 15 years, Austinites have been able to shop these items all in their own backyard from the jeweler’s prime boutique location in the heart of Tarrytown.
Five generations have steered L. Majors Jewelers to success, and Michael Majors is now at the helm, ensuring the tradition of his family’s legacy propels forward into 2025. The fifth generation owner and operator says his priority continues to be on quality, not quantity.

“At L. Majors, we are extremely curated and are a very high-level boutique,” said Majors. “We aren’t a pedestrian luxury, and we don’t offer what your neighbor has on purpose. This is something our clients celebrate and why they keep coming back. They want something different and not what 20 other people in the boardroom have. They’ve educated themselves on limited luxury, and they’re the opposite of the common buyer.”
To meet this need, Majors says they focus on carrying pieces from brands like Glashütte Original (which only produces between 8,500 and 10,000 units globally each year) as well as IWC Schaffhausen (L. Majors’ highest production brand). NOMOS Glashütte is also a beloved brand for L. Majors Jewelers, as it’s one of the more entry-level brands for younger generations who have an appreciation for timepieces and are just starting their collections – something Majors is happy to witness.
In addition to their exclusivity, Majors notes that these brands are “true manufacturers,” meaning they make nearly all components of the products themselves in a completely vertical process, which is important to his customers. Majors also notes that many clients express interest in the origins of their jewelry, showing an affinity for domestic brands or European brands that are manufactured on a limited level.
Reflecting on the legacy of his family’s brand and his appreciation for his local clients, Majors shares, “While Austin has obviously become a very large and growing market, people here still very much celebrate and appreciate family-owned businesses. No matter where they’re from – whether locals or transplants – the general sentiment in Austin is an appreciation for customer service, being treated well, and supporting unique and special places. That’s what Austin has always been about, and I love that.”
