Maybe you’ve just had a spectacular meal at Foreign & Domestic, it’s Sunday and you and your brunch mates aren’t ready to go home to do laundry. Why not take a stroll along North Loop neighborhood and pop into a few of the eclectic stores that line this stretch of Austin? You might find something for your summer closet, your bright and sunny breakfast nook, a unique gift for an upcoming birthday that you almost forgot about — or one more cocktail. Here are six shops along North Loop that are worth a stop during a Sunday out:
A stroll on North Loop really has to start at Room Service: The weekend sidewalk sale is a bargain hunters’ heaven, but the real treasure trove is inside the store. Whether searching for 1950s dish sets, used books, vintage apparel or assorted knickknacks, there is something for everyone at Room Service.
If you didn’t get your vinyl fix at Room Service, head farther down North Loop to Breakaway. Bursting with a wide selection of both new and used records, the shop is a must-stop for anyone trying to beef up their collection.
Across the street from Room Service, Big Bertha’s and Ermine Vintage are both mainstays in the North Loop corridor. Whether searching for the perfect costume or your next statement piece, both stores offer a carefully curated selection of fantastic vintage clothing.
