Women & Their Work will host the much-anticipated Red Dot Art Spree on Thursday, Oct. 6, with the Red Dot 2022 Exhibition open from Oct. 6 through 15.

In the art world, a red dot signifies that an item is “sold,” and guests can expect to see a room full of red dots as more than 150 pieces of art will be on sale at the Art Spree. Collectors, advocates and all art enthusiasts are invited to acquire new pieces, and each will be priced at $1,000 or less.

“Sometimes the idea of collecting can be intimidating to people, but Red Dot makes buying art fun, easy and accessible,” says Women & Their Work Gallery Director Jordan Nelsen. “With a curated selection of over 150 works by some of Austin’s best artists and beyond, you can’t go wrong with whichever piece you purchase.”

Women & Their Work was founded in 1978 and has given a spotlight to female Texas artists ever since. The event will be held at the organization’s East Cesar Chavez gallery, and participating artists include Amanda Fay, Andrea Muñoz Martínez, Yasmin Youssef and many more.

Proceeds from the Red Dot Art Spree will go towards the organization’s work to introduce underserved students in the Austin area to the world of contemporary art. The nonprofit’s art education programs bring the creativity of art to children, encouraging participants to create their own artwork and enjoy the art of others.

“It’s rewarding to participate in a fundraiser that strengthens the Austin art scene,” says Nelsen. “By investing in artists and Women & Their Work, you promote the creativity and experimentation that shapes and maintains our city’s vibrant cultural landscape.”

The Red Dot 2022 Exhibition will be on display from Oct. 6 through 15 and is free and open to the public. The exhibition opening and Art Spree will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 6. The VIP Pre-Spree starts at 6 p.m. that evening.

“Arrive with an open mind, embrace the moment and don’t hesitate to put a red dot on the work that you respond to immediately,” says Nelsen.

Tribeza is excited to return as a media sponsor of the 2022 Red Dot Art Spree. For tickets to the opening, visit Women & Their Work’s website.
