The team behind East Austin brunch favorite Paperboy is set to open Loudmouth, a family-friendly pizza spot located at 1209 Rosewood Ave., on Nov. 6. After watching the dining scene grow around them, co-owners Ryan Harms and Patrick Jackson saw an opportunity to expand their local reach, renovating a neighborhood house into a pizza joint that stays true to their roots in community and hospitality.

“We wanted to create a place we wanted to go with our own families and offer the same casual, approachable atmosphere as Paperboy,” said Harms, managing partner at Daybreak Hospitality. Jackson echoed the sentiment, explaining that the name Loudmouth honors his grandfather and reflects the lively, welcoming feel they aim to capture.

“Everything in the family happens in the kitchen, and when you’re hanging out over dinner, you have the craziest conversations,” Jackson said. “It’s always loud and fun, and that’s influenced the style of the menu.”

The menu will feature wood-fired pizzas with locally sourced ingredients, crafted with the same attention to quality as Paperboy. In addition to pizza, Loudmouth will offer classic sandwiches made with house-baked bread, including an Italian sub and a meatball sub with provolone, tomato sauce, and pickled fennel.

Desserts will also make an impression, with options like a brown butter skillet cookie served with Dolce Neve vanilla gelato and a black sesame tiramisu. Opening on Nov. 6, Loudmouth aims to become a neighborhood favorite, offering a laid-back dining experience that brings a taste of Paperboy to the dinner table.

Loudmouth will be open Monday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., extending hours to 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday. Weekend hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
