From bratwurst and schnitzel to pretzels and polka, these must-attend events capture the spirit of the season in all its festive glory.

Live Oak Brewing Co. Oaktoberfest

September 20-22

Live Oak Brewing’s 27th annual Oaktoberfest is a three-day celebration filled with beer, food, and live music from noon to 10 p.m. each day. Enjoy their signature Oaktoberfest beer, a 5.8% Munich-style Märzen Lager, along with stein-hoisting competitions, college football, and food trucks. The weekend will feature live music, including performances by Dead Music Capital Band on Friday, Reedmeisters on Saturday, and The Austin Polka Band on Sunday.

Easy Tiger Oktoberfest

September 26-29

This year’s festivities at Easy Tiger take place at both the LINC and South Lamar locations from September 26–29. Highlights include daily stein hoisting contests, an adult spelling bee, and live performances from bands like Tubameisters, Off The Grid, and more. Laztoberfest at Lazarus Brewing Co.

September 27-October 6

Lazarus Brewing is hosting a 10-day Oktoberfest packed with beer, polka, and festive fun, running from Sept. 27 through Oct. 6. With locations in East Austin and North Loop, they’ll be serving up steins of beer alongside lively entertainment, with more details to come.

Meanwhile Brewing Co. Oktoberfest

September 29 – October 1

Located in Southeast Austin, this brewery is a must-visit for beer and music lovers. Their weekend Oktoberfest celebration features specialty lagers, food specials from on-site trucks like chaurice sausages with fennel remoulade, bratwurst pizza, and pretzel-inspired ice cream. Festivities include stein-hoisting competitions, pretzel tosses, live music, and limited-edition merchandise. This free, all-ages event starts at 8 a.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. 42nd Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg Marktplatz

October 4-6

Fredericksburg, founded in 1846 by some of Texas’ earliest German immigrants, knows how to throw an unforgettable Oktoberfest. This year’s celebration will be a true showcase of German heritage, featuring five stages of live music, an expansive menu of German delicacies, and a variety of competitions — from stein-hoisting to Dirndl and Lederhosen contests. October 5

The Austin Saengerrunde presents its annual Austoberfest at Scholz Garten on October 5, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Celebrate German heritage with live music, sausage samplings, polka dancing, bowling, and stein-holding competitions. Enjoy family-friendly activities, karaoke, and beer specials. Tickets are $25 for a full day of fun at Texas’ oldest restaurant and music venue.


Austin Oktoberfest

October 12

This tradition doubles as a fundraiser for the German Texan Heritage Society. Don your dirndl and groove to live performances, enjoy delicious food and a wide variety of beer. This event, located at German Free School, also offers kids activities, including pumpkin painting, bouncy house, and more. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.

November 1– 10

There’s no better time for a trip to New Braunfels than during Wurstfest, an unforgettable 10-day-long festival packed with revelry. After all, the city is one of the epicenters of German culture in Texas. Guests will feast on an array of Bavarian food and drinks while bouncing between five stages of live entertainment, carnivals, and fun vendors. Advance sale tickets are $22.50 for Saturday (usable any day) and $18 for Friday or Sunday, available through Oct. 31. Enjoy free admission on November 4-7 from 5-10 p.m. each day.
