Radio Coffee & Beer, a popular Austin coffee and bar, is set to open its third location, Radio Rosewood, on Feb. 12. Located at 1115 E. 11th St., formerly home to Try Hard Coffee Roasters, the new spot aims to continue the sense of community and quality that has earned its original Menchaca Road location the title of “Best Coffee Shop” in the Austin Chronicle’s readers poll for eight consecutive years.

Co-owner Trey Hudson sees the expansion as a natural fit for the brand.

“We’re thrilled to bring Radio’s signature warmth, hospitality, and top-notch drinks to Austin’s iconic East Side,” Hudson said in a recent press release. “This neighborhood has a rich history of creativity, culture, and community—values that align perfectly with what we believe in.”

A day-to-night experience

Like its predecessors, Radio Rosewood is an all-day space, that serves everything from cappuccinos and breakfast sandwiches to handcrafted cocktails and smash burgers. The addition of a new in-house concept, Shortwave Diner, marks a significant step for Radio’s popular food truck, now moving into its first brick-and-mortar space.

“Radio Rosewood will offer the same welcoming atmosphere and high-quality experience our customers love, but with a stronger focus on craft cocktails and food,” said co-owner Jack Wilson. “We want this space to be a spot where people can unplug, connect, and enjoy great drinks from morning to late at night—whether it’s a perfect cup of coffee to start the day or a cocktail shared among friends after hours.”

A new “third space” for the Rosewood community

Since its founding in 2014, Radio Coffee & Beer has built a reputation as a true “third space”—a place where locals gather for coffee, food trucks, live music and community events. From weekly trivia nights to live music performances, the South Austin and East Austin locations have become beloved neighborhood hubs, and the owners aim to build on that legacy.

Radio Rosewood will also continue Radio’s commitment to giving back. A portion of every coffee bag sale will support DAWA (Diversity Awareness and Wellness in Action), an Austin-based nonprofit that provides financial assistance and wellness programs to BIPOC community frontliners.

“Being voted ‘Austin’s Best Coffee Shop’ is an honor we don’t take lightly,” said Greg Wilson, co-owner of Radio Coffee & Beer. “Our vision is simple: to keep serving Austin with the same passion, quality, and community spirit that brought us here in the first place.”
