Easter weekend is almost here, and Austin has plenty of ways to celebrate. Restaurants and hotels across the city are rolling out special brunch menus, egg hunts and family-friendly events for the occasion. From rooftop meals to lawn festivities and visits with the Easter Bunny, there’s no shortage of festive things to do around town.
Commodore Perry Estate and Lutie’s Easter Sunday
Commodore Perry Estate will celebrate Easter Sunday with brunch and family-friendly activities across its historic grounds. The Mansion will host a lavish Easter brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $135 per adult and $45 per child, with bottomless mimosas included, while Lutie’s will offer a more intimate à la carte brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can also enjoy a Texas-sized egg hunt at noon and 1 p.m., a petting zoo, cascarones egg workshop and Easter portrait experience from noon to 3 p.m. Reservations are encouraged.
Aba
Spend Easter on the stunning Aba patio while relishing in classic brunch menu items and holiday specials available in addition to the regular menu on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5. Four Seasons Hotel Austin will host Easter Brunch and an egg hunt from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 5 at Ciclo and the hotel’s lake-level ballroom. The celebration will include live music, an outdoor petting zoo and lawn activities for hotel and brunch guests, with the first children’s egg hunt set for 11:30 a.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (512) 478-4500.
Carpenters Hall
The Carpenter Hotel will host Easter brunch at Carpenters Hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 5. The special holiday menu will include a cinnamon roll for two, smoked braised lamb hash with poached duck eggs, harissa hollandaise and pickled peppers, and a butter-poached lobster scramble with Maine lobster. Fairmont Austin
A grand Easter brunch buffet will be served in the seventh-floor Palm Park ballroom, followed by family-friendly festivities on the rooftop deck, including a kids Easter egg hunt and petting zoo. Seating options are available at 10 a.m. with a noon egg hunt or 1:30 p.m. with a 3:30 p.m. egg hunt. Brunch is priced at $145 for adults, $50 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger. VanHorn’s
Newly opened in downtown Austin in November, VanHorn’s has quickly built a following for its dry-aged steaks, dirty martinis and old-school steakhouse atmosphere. Highlights include stuffed French toast, a jumbo lump crab cake sandwich, smoked salmon rösti, steak and eggs, monkey bread and a seafood tower.
Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa
Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa will celebrate Easter weekend with family-friendly events and brunch specials in the Texas Hill Country. Guests with tee times on April 4-5 can take part in an Easter Golf Ball Hunt. On the Hill Country Pavilion there will be an Easter celebration with live music, animal meet-and-greets, Easter egg hunts and more.
Blind Salamander Kitchen & Bar will serve Easter Brunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $135 per person and $35 for children age 6 and younger. Uchi Austin will open for a special Easter Sunday lunch service from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering a rare daytime dining experience at the South Austin restaurant.
