Gati Expands With a New Vegan Ice Cream Shop in Hyde Park
The new scoop shop from Thai Fresh owner Chef Jam Sanitchat opens June 27 with free ice cream for the first 100 customers

The dairy-free and gluten-free ice cream shop from Thai Fresh owner Jam Sanitchat, Gati, will open its second location Saturday, June 27, in Hyde Park. The new shop, called Gati Scoops, will bring the brand’s rotating lineup of plant-based ice cream, gluten-free baked goods and sundaes to 4500 Duval St.
To celebrate opening day, the first 100 customers will receive a free scoop. All other guests that day will receive a free topping with their order, with options including housemade gluten-free sandwich cookies and dye-free sprinkles.
The Hyde Park shop takes a more streamlined approach than Gati’s original Holly location, which serves a full-service breakfast and lunch menu in addition to desserts. Gati Scoops will focus entirely on sweets, operating as a dedicated ice cream scoop shop in the former Gelatoro space, located inside the same building as Juiceland and Poke Poke.
Seasonal rotating flavors
The shop will serve 16 ice cream flavors at a time, with selections rotating seasonally. Opening flavors will include summer options such as Blackberry Cobbler, Blueberry and Mango Lime, alongside Gati classics including Cookie Monster, Pandan, Thai Coffee, Golden Milk and Lavender Caramel. Guests will also be able to add sweet sticky rice to their ice cream.
Gati Scoops will also introduce a flavor and sundae exclusive to the Hyde Park location: Tamarind Candy Ice Cream and a Peach Cobbler Sundae made with local peaches.
Beyond scoops, they will feature several of Gati’s signature gluten-free desserts, including coffee cake, brownie à la mode, brownie ice cream sandwiches, made-to-order ice cream cookie sandwiches on oatmeal or chocolate chip cookies, ice cream cake slices, affogatos and pints to go.
The new location will be open from noon to 10 p.m. daily.
