L’Oca d’Oro
Mueller’s L’Oca d’Oro will host its fifth annual Love v. Hate Valentine’s Dinner with a music-inspired menu that pits yacht rock against grunge. The chefs and bartenders have put together a creative menu honoring the music of bands such as Steely Dan, Nirvana and Hall and Oates, among others. All dishes are shareable, and each couple will receive the entire menu. Meals will cost $85 per person with optional beverage pairings. Desert Door

Desert Door, a sotol distillery located in Driftwood, will host its Wild Card Series on the 14th, a perfect option for the social butterflies who want to mix and mingle with fellow guests. Wild Card is a monthly event that features chefs who come to Desert Door to cook items that are not found on its regular menus. For this edition, Chef Sarah Abernathy of Justine’s Secret House will serve up doughnuts and kolaches from 5 to 8 p.m. Come with a partner or make new friends at Desert Door’s bar, where you can indulge in a number of holiday-inspired cocktails featuring the signature sotol. Canje
A truly special occasion option, guests at Canje will enjoy an eight course meal for $100 per person, with optional $50 cocktail pairings and $40 mocktail pairings. Canje recently opened in East Austin with food inspired by executive chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph’s Guyanese roots. Rosewood, a former Tribeza Restaurant Pick, is serving a delicious four-course tasting menu in honor of Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14. Items include Duck-Filled Tortellini and 40 Day Dry-Aged Ribeye. Carpenters Hall

Carpenters Hall is typically closed for service on Mondays and Tuesdays, but will be open for Valentine’s Day lunch and dinner. A prix fixe menu featuring Beef Tartare, Crispy Halibut and Carrot Cake will be available for dinner at $58 per person plus tax and gratuity, with the restaurant’s typical menu available for lunch. Chef Fermín Núñez and his team have created a Mas(a)mor Valentine’s Day Dinner featuring botanas (small bites), three savory courses and dessert to celebrate the holiday of love. Núñez, one of Tribeza’s 2021 People of the Year, has taken the Austin food scene by storm with his epic food, created with local ingredients and Mexican cooking techniques. Summer House on Music Lane, Hotel Magdalena’s full-service restaurant, will serve a three-course dinner for lovers this year at $58 per person. Old Thousand

Old Thousand has created the ultimate take-out option for Valentine’s weekend with its Valentine’s Packs, available for $88 each. The meals come with Hainanese Quail with Ginger Scallion Sauce and Herbs, Pork and Kimchi Dumplings, Chicken Fat Rice, Dry Fried Asparagus and Chocolate Mooncake. Although not offering a special prix fixe menu, eastside Italian restaurant Intero will be open especially for Valentine’s Day. Make a reservation here. The restaurant, which is led by husband-and-wife team Krystal Craig and Ian Thurwachter, will also offer a chocolate and Amari pairing box for pick-up from Feb. 9 to 14. Boxes will include two tasting glasses, three selected Amari varieties, artisan chocolates, a description sheet and Amaro recipes for $85. The box is meant for two.
