Wolf and Wheat Bakery is Austin’s Newest Go-To for Delicious Baked Goods
Renowned co-owner and chef of Michelin-Starred Sushi by Scratch and Pasta Bar, Margarita Kallas-Lee, unveils bakery in East Austin

Margarita Kallas-Lee, co-owner and chef behind the renowned Michelin-starred restaurants Sushi by Scratch and Pasta Bar, is has unveiled her latest venture, Wolf and Wheat, a dessert shop and commissary. This exciting debut opened on Thursday, October 26th, at 2 p.m., at 1009 East 6th Street.
At Wolf and Wheat, guests will have the unique opportunity to step inside an immersive working kitchen, where they can witness the creation of all the delectable pastries and bread items served in Margarita’s restaurants.

More notably, for the very first time, customers can purchase a wide array of freshly baked goods to take home without the need for dining in.
As you enter the shop, you’ll immediately feel like you’ve stepped into Margarita’s kitchen, with a bountiful display of ready-to-purchase pastries elegantly spread out on butcher paper.
Additionally, patrons will experience a sense of familiarity reminiscent of other Scratch Restaurants concepts, having the opportunity to engage with the talented team responsible for crafting these treats, and gaining insight into their meticulous process.
Indulge in sweet treats with unique ingredients
Visitors can pick up baked goods, desserts suitable for large gatherings, or even a pint of Wolf and Wheat’s enticing ice cream with enticing flavors like Makrut with Matcha and Burnt Vanilla with Brownie. The space also features a fridge filled with delectable treats like Oolong Tiramisu and Raspberry Tres Leches Potted Cakes.
Also, they will sell a few familiar items, like Margarita’s famous Sourdough that uses a 58 year-old-starter and Homemade Cultured Butter, and Sushi by Scratch Restaurant’s Makrut Ice Cream BonBons, along with a list of rotating items.
Wolf and Wheat is open Thursday through Saturday from 2 p.m.-10 p.m. and is just down the street from Pasta Bar.
