Yelp’s Top 100 Taco Spots List Features 3 Austin Taquerias
Plus, locals are invited to enjoy some of the country’s best tacos during Austin’s Week of Free Tacos
With National Taco Day fast approaching on Oct. 4, Yelp has announced the Top 100 Taco Spots in the U.S., and three Austin restaurants have made the list.
Granny’s Tacos landed close to the top spot with a #4 ranking, while Cuantos Tacos and Flavia’s Kitchen came in at #54 and #90 respectively.
All three eateries are food trucks, each with its own spin on the toppings-filled tortillas we all know and love.
At Granny’s Tacos, guests can take a bite out of Abuela’s scratch-made tacos, each created from recipes that have been passed down through generations. Cuantos Tacos serves up mouthwatering Mexico City-style tacos — small in size, but mighty in flavor. Flavia’s Kitchen, run by Flavia herself, offers fresh, handmade dishes, as well as delicious agua fresca.

Yelp is also launching a contest to find their first ever Taco Trailblazer, who will receive $20,000 to travel across the country and visit a number of the Top 100 Taco Spots. The Taco Trailblazer will create content chronicling their experiences at the featured stops. The sweepstakes winner will hold the traveling position from Nov. 1, 2022 through Feb. 29, 2023.
Applicants must produce a 30 to 60-second video sharing why they are qualified to take on the taco trail, as well as submit a link to a personally created Yelp collection featuring at least five food businesses.
To kick off the search for their Taco Trailblazer, Yelp will host Austin’s Week of Free Tacos from Sept. 26 to Sept. 30. Participating restaurants include honorees Granny’s Tacos and Cuantos Tacos, as well as Los Danzantes ATX and The Vegan Nom.
To participate, locals must download the Yelp app and create an account, visit the participating businesses during their designated hours of promotion, check in on a specific Yelp page and show the check-in offer to the business for redemption. For full details and rules, visit the event page here.
