Soho House Austin: Inside the Gorgeous New Members’ Club

See the stunning designs of the posh space on Austin’s Music Lane

Soho House Austin is now open.

Situated on Music Lane along South Congress, the new members’ club is on par with the spectacular locations around the world — New York, London, Barcelona, Berlin, Mailbu and Hong Kong, to name a few — that made Soho House a famous place to escape to in an urban setting.

Texas’ first location, which opened in May, hopes to attract a crowd of creatives who care to mingle in a modern space and relax with amenities like a rooftop pool, a screening room, a bar, a restaurant and more than 40 luxurious bedrooms.

Members pay an annual fee for a home away from home at Soho House Austin (and other locations if frequent travel is part of your lifestyle). Details on how membership works can be found here.

In the meantime, peek inside the beautifully designed, three-story space that’s filled with enough vintage furniture, exquisite décor and local artwork to capture an Austin vibe:

Dallas-based painter Desireé Vaniecia contributed a mural to the pool area (above) that’s representative of her deeply personal work which challenges stereotypes of black women.

The Terrace, which wraps around the building, holds a lounge area under a wooden pergola and glass lanterns with banquettes where members can order food, drinks and enjoy an afternoon.

The menu of fresh Mediterranean food from Aba Restaurant focuses on classics like hummus, flatbreads, sea food, burgers and kebabs.

Cocktails are served in the lounge, at the restaurant, in the bar or by the pool.

More than 70 artists with Texas roots contributed to a collection held at Soho House Austin and displayed throughout the property.

Around the wood-carved main bar, members can gather under the reclaimed timber ceiling in a space that holds leather seats and stone tables. Austin ceramicist Keith Kreeger created the lamps that keep the place warmly lit.

With cacti, trees and grasses, the vibe on the terrace is pure-but-modern Texas for Soho House’s first location in the Lone Star State.
