Wellness extends far beyond skincare, and The Beauty Way is bringing its holistic philosophy to the spa. Through a new partnership with Verbena Spa at Austin Proper Hotel, founder Jyoti Lohman is expanding her brand’s signature approach to intentional self-care with a first-of-its-kind body treatment that blends therapeutic massage, mindfulness and clean beauty rituals.

The Beauty Way founder Jyoti Lohman has always believed that self-care is about more than skincare. Her products are designed to seamlessly integrate into everyday routines while delivering visible results, empowering women to feel their best, inside and out. With her new signature treatment at Verbena Spa, she’s bringing that philosophy into a full-body experience.

The new Beauty Way Ritual Massage is a new wellness experience inspired by ancient healing practices designed to restore balance and promote deep relaxation. The treatment begins with a grounding foot cleanse, followed by a customized massage using signature oils, polish and body crème to ease tension, enhance circulation and support overall well-being. Breathwork and sound healing are woven throughout to encourage relaxation, restore balance and leave skin deeply nourished.

We spoke with Lohman about the inspiration behind The Beauty Way, and why the goal of this Verbena Spa treatment isn’t to zone out — it’s actually to tune in.

Q&A with Jyoti Lohman on Creating Presence Through Ritual

TRIBEZA: Tell us about your background and what inspired The Beauty Way.

Lohman: I was raised in Santa Cruz with a this interesting blend of hippie and luxury growing up. That’s really what my brand ethos is. It’s aesthetically pleasing, it’s luxurious, but it’s really meant to ground you in presence.

I watched my mom go through really challenging parts of her life. She was dealing with massive stress, but she did energy work, body work and took care of herself. I watched her show up 100% for us because she was showing up 100% for herself. That was such a powerful message as a child.

Then I became a mom, and I was so tired, so worn out, giving everything I had. I thought: “I love products that are clean, beautiful and luxurious; mantras are such a powerful part of my day;” and creating space for body and soul care is where this all came together.

TRIBEZA: How did your collaboration with The Austin Proper come about?

Lohman: When I first met with Jasmine Samano, Director of Wellness at Verbena Spa at The Proper, I said, “Let’s tap into your property. Let’s create something that’s signature for your spa.” We brought in a foot-cleansing ritual inspired by Bali. We incorporated breathwork, aromatherapy, sound healing and a customized massage. Jasmine and I really co-created this wellness experience together.

TRIBEZA: What do you hope guests feel when they experience this treatment?

Lohman: I don’t want you to zone out. I want you to tune in. You’re letting go of the outside noise, but you’re not checking out. You’re checking in.

My mom recently experienced the treatment, and afterward she said, “I immediately let go. I left it all at the door. I was just wrapped in this warmness and this coziness.” She said she could feel the sound reverberating around her heart, and I thought, “This is exactly what I wanted.”

As women, we’re so focused on being present with our families and our work, but we forget about being present with ourselves. That’s what self-care means to me: presence with ourselves.

TRIBEZA: What’s next for The Beauty Way?

Lohman: The Beauty Way is actually takes its name from a Native American prayer about walking in beauty—in connection with nature, in harmony, in balance and with yourself. I’d love for The Beauty Way to be that signal to your brain to be present with yourself and to slow down. It doesn’t have to be these huge life overhauls. Body care is something you’ll do every day, so take that moment to slow down. Be intentional with your time.

I have a five- and eight-year-old, a growing business, and I have to practice what I preach. That little shift in mindset works. It’s about nurturing both body and soul.
