Grammy-Winning Singer-Songwriter Olivia Rodrigo to Perform New Album at Austin City Limits Taping
Here’s how to see her July 29 taping, featuring the first full set from her chart-topping third album
Olivia Rodrigo will return to “Austin City Limits” on July 29 for the first full-set performance of her chart-topping new album, “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.”
The three-time Grammy Award winner will record the performance before a live audience at ACL Live at the Moody Theater. A giveaway for free taping passes opens July 24, with entry details set to be announced through ACLTV’s social media accounts.
The hourlong episode will premiere and stream this fall on PBS as part of the music series’ 52nd season. The upcoming season will be the first in the show’s history to devote a full-hour episode to every featured artist. The performance will also be available through the PBS app and PBS website.
A new album, tour and festival
Rodrigo’s third studio album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making it her third consecutive album to top the chart. The release includes “drop dead,” which became the lead single from her third consecutive album to debut at No. 1, and “the cure,” which topped several Billboard rock and alternative charts.
The July taping marks Rodrigo’s first appearance on “Austin City Limits” in five years. She made her debut on the series at age 18 in 2021, when she performed her first full set before a live audience. Since then, she has earned 14 Grammy nominations, completed 100 sold-out performances across 21 countries on her “GUTS” World Tour and announced her upcoming Unraveled Tour.
The Austin appearance also comes one month before Rodrigo launches Daisy Chain Fields, a new single-day music festival she founded to celebrate women in music and support organizations serving women and girls. The festival takes place Aug. 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California, with an all-women lineup featuring Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Bikini Kill, Garbage, KATSEYE and The Breeders, along with special guests Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan and Karen O. Net proceeds will benefit nonprofit organizations advocating for women and girls.
