Austin has welcomed several new arrivals this summer, including Aesop’s first local store, a South Congress pop-up from SET, Mad Hippie’s debut flagship and a sprawling South Lamar vintage market filled with local vendors. Plus, Le Garage Sale returns with more than 100 boutiques, brands and designers offering end-of-season deals under one roof. Here are five shopping destinations and events to add to your radar.

SET Active

Los Angeles-based lifestyle brand SET Active has opened a summer pop-up on South Congress, bringing its fitted basics and limited-edition drops to Austin for the first time. The shop, located at 1318 S. Congress Ave., is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through early fall. Shoppers can expect seasonal collections, core styles and Austin-exclusive merchandise available only at the pop-up.

Le Garage Sale

At Le Garage Sale, fashion-conscious shoppers can expect 100+ boutiques, brands and designers to bring their wardrobe staples, luxe lingerie and leisurewear, eye-catching accessories, children’s apparel, menswear, home decor pieces, hostess gifts, apothecary concepts, art and more at Palmer Events Center. On August 29-30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., shop discounted items under one roof. This Austin-born fashion experience has been a favorite among style setters since 2001. The diverse line up of celebrated local businesses gather twice each year to bring their excess merchandise, marked down to end-of-season pricing, during this two-day shopping party.

Mad Hippie Flagship

Nearly two decades after launching Mad Hippie from their South Lamar home, founders Sam and Dana Stewart have opened the clean skincare brand’s first flagship store in the neighborhood where it began. The 3,600-square-foot shop at 700 S. Lamar Blvd. pairs the brand’s skincare line with a terrazzo facial bar, personalized consultations and a curated selection of ceramics, loungewear and fair-trade textiles. Designed by Austin-based Studio Luck, the space also serves as a gathering place for workshops, yoga classes and community events.

Road Runner Relics

More than 30 vintage and antique dealers have moved under one roof at Roadrunner Relics, a new 10,000-square-foot shop in the former Two Hills Studio space on South Lamar. The market carries furniture, clothing, rare collectibles and other finds from a mix of local vendors. Founded by Austin vintage seller Eisley Co, the shop is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 2706 S. Lamar Blvd. Alloy Auto Haus, a car-themed warehouse and Cars and Coffee gathering space located behind the market, is expected to open in August.

Aesop Domain NORTHSIDE

Australian brand Aesop has opened its first Austin store at Domain Northside, offering its full lineup of skin, hair and body care products, along with fragrance. The new location also carries an Austin-exclusive City Kit stocked with travel-size essentials suited for hot weather and days on the go. A nod to Texas road trips, the space incorporates industrial finishes, automotive-inspired shelving and recycled tire rubber throughout.
