The Common Interest

One of Austin’s older party spots, The Common Interest began as a piano bar in the summer of 1974. In 1989, the joint implemented karaoke and has since blossomed into one of the city’s most beloved places for performing without inhibitions. A legendary live music venue founded in 1974, the Hole in the Wall sits on Guadalupe Street right across the street from the University of Texas campus.
