Austin’s Chef Kevin D’Andrea Teams Up with Olympians in ‘Breaking Baguettes’ Ahead of Paris 2024

The new NBCUniversal series blends culinary arts and athletic excellence, featuring French cuisine and inspiring stories from top athletes

NBCUniversal Local’s exciting new series, Breaking Baguettes, connects celebrity chef Kevin D’Andrea with Olympians to explore the intersections of food, dining, and French culture. This unique culinary show is set against the backdrop of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, offering a delightful blend of gourmet cooking and athlete stories.

Chef Kevin D’Andrea, a native of France and owner of Austin’s renowned bakery Foliepop’s, brings his culinary expertise to the forefront. A finalist on Top Chef France in 2015 and awarded the title of “Best Young Chef of 2016” in France, D’Andrea continues to make waves in the culinary world as a contestant on Bravo’s Top Chef: Wisconsin this year.

Filmed at GhostLine Kitchens in Austin, Breaking Baguettes is a five-part series that will air from June 4 to June 18. Each half-hour episode features Chef D’Andrea and a different Olympian as they prepare fine French cuisine, creating a mouthwatering homage to the upcoming Paris Olympics. The series will be available on NBC and Telemundo-owned stations, regional sports networks, Peacock, and the NBC Sports YouTube page.

The series features a stellar lineup of athletes who have represented Team USA on the world stage, with some preparing to compete in France this summer. Notable guests include gold-medalist swimmer Lydia Jacoby, divers Hailey Hernandez and Alison Gibson, track and field stars Christina and Kyle Clemons, NBA legend David Robinson and his son Corey Robinson, and silver-medalist decathlete Trey Hardee, now an NBC Olympics analyst.
