Austin is ready to kick off a day of giving with a bang. From March 5 at 6 p.m. to March 6 at 6 p.m., Austinites have the chance to show up for their most beloved nonprofits through the 13th annual Amplify Austin Day, a fun and local generosity movement that engages the local community.

Since its inception in 2013, Amplify Austin Day has changed the way Central Texans think about giving back locally. The initiative has raised an impressive $112.7 million for 1,507 local nonprofits, demonstrating the power of collective giving. It’s true – everything really is bigger in Texas, including our hearts.

For Amplify Austin Day 2025, the initiative has a goal of raising $10 million for more than 700 nonprofits across its seven-county region. This year, more than 80 new nonprofits are participating in the event for the first time. Amplify Austin Day aims to ensure every nonprofit receives a donation.

During the event, residents from Travis, Hays, Williamson, Burnet, Bastrop, Caldwell and Blanco counties can make a gift of $5 or more across 19 causes that are near and dear to their heart, including Racial Equity, Environment, Animals, Arts, Basic Needs, Children, Veterans and more. This year, the organization has also added a new category: Disability Services. Plus, gifts can be matched and impacts can be increased when giving to a nonprofit with Amplify Austin Day matching incentives. Givers can choose up to 10 nonprofits to donate to in a single transaction. When residents give, it’s their vote of support for what they want to see more of in their community – and for a more prosperous, equitable and united future.

If residents feel called to become even more involved, they can become an Amplify Austin Day Fundraising Champion. Fundraising Champions invite friends, family and neighbors to their fundraising page, and are also given tools and training materials to increase their fundraising opportunities while maximizing their efforts. On average, Fundraising Champions help raise three times more for nonprofits during Amplify Austin Day than other participants.

Businesses are also able to participate as Business Fundraisers, encouraging their employees to participate. This is a free opportunity for local businesses or local corporate offices to partake, empowering staff to donate to any participating nonprofit in Amplify Wilco (Williamson County) Day. Businesses compete to be the “most generous” company in Central Texas, while Austin’s Cirrus Logic has taken the title for six consecutive years. Companies should register to participate by Feb. 26.

Amplify Austin Day is led, organized, and executed by the nonprofit I Live Here I Give Here, which is on a mission to amplify giving in Central Texas through cultivating and creating deeper connections for givers and the issues they care about. Since 2007, I Live Here I Give Here has activated more than 200,000 Central Texans to help raise $140 Million. The nonprofit envisions a Central Texas where every community member is engaged in giving and makes giving opportunities accessible for Central Texans.

I Live Here I Give Here hopes Austinites of all ages and backgrounds feel encouraged to participate in the 2025 event. A gift of any size starting at just $5 makes a meaningful difference for a local nonprofit that addresses the community’s most pressing needs and helps the people, places and animals residents so dearly treasure. The support from this event helps the Austin community continue to thrive, and even the smallest of gifts add up to make a big impact, shaping a brighter future for the community that so many love to call home.
