Urban Roots’ Tour de Farm Promises an Evening of Culinary Delights
Local nonprofit celebrates youth leadership and food equity in Austin at their highly anticipated dinner party
Urban Roots invites everyone to their annual spring event, Tour de Farm where you can enjoy a spring-fresh, family-style meal prepared by local chefs and paired with craft brews and delectable cocktails and mocktails. A fundraiser for this Austin nonprofit organization, the evening will be full of conversation, inspiration, and delicious food.
Tour de Farm will take place on May 15 from 5:30 – 9 p.m. at Meanwhile Brewing. The event is a an opportunity to celebrate Urban Roots‘ commitment to working with youth leaders and furthering food access in Central Texas.

Guests will have the chance to join youth-led tours of Urban Roots’ South Austin farm before settling in for an delicious fresh meal that highlights vegetables harvested from the farms. Chefs include Damien Brockwayof Distant Relatives, Rick Rick Lopez of La Condesa, Fiore Tedesco of L’Oca d’Oro & Bambino, Michael Fojtasek of MaieB Hospitality, Abby Jane Bakeshop, and Antonelli’s Cheese Shop.
“We are delighted to invite friends, new and old, to join us for Tour de Farm 2024,” said Brian Stephens, executive director of Urban Roots. “This event not only celebrates the incredible work of youth alongside staff and volunteers but is a fun and inspiring way for us to come together with the community and raise vital support for our programs promoting food equity and youth leadership.”
At the event, Urban Roots will present its first annual community awards, recognizing individuals who have made exceptional contributions to furthering the organization’s mission.
