Marquez provided insights into the rigorous demands of MotoGP, emphasizing the paramount importance of both physical and mental preparedness. “If you want to be a MotoGP rider, you need to be a real athlete,” Marquez stated. “You need to control your nutrition, train a lot… And the most difficult thing is to keep your concentration throughout the 45-minute duration of the race.”

What to expect at MotoGP

Throughout the weekend, spectators can expect three action-packed days of racing excitement, starting with practice sessions on Friday to fine-tune strategies and familiarize riders with the track. Saturday ramps up with qualifying sessions, where riders vie for optimal starting positions on the grid, leading up to Sunday’s main event, where competitors engage in thrilling races across various classes, showcasing their skills and vying for victory on the world stage.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming Grand Prix, fans eagerly anticipate the unique thrills that COTA has in store. Marquez sheds light on one of the weekend’s most anticipated events, the Saturday afternoon sprint race. “One of the most special moments of this weekend is Saturday afternoon’s sprint race,” Marquez enthuses. “The sprint race is more fun because it’s only 10 laps and it’s a full attack with everybody giving it their all.”

Reflecting on his career, Marquez fondly recalls the pivotal moments that have defined his journey to greatness. “COTA is one of the best circuits for my riding style, and I’ve won many times here,” Marquez reminisces. “I achieved my first MotoGP championship here in Austin, so I have very good memories here… I’m lucky because I can choose from many great moments from my career, but one of the best moments would be my first victory in Austin in 2013.”

Marquez’s victory in 2013 marked a significant milestone, affirming his place among the elite riders of MotoGP. Facing formidable opponents such as Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, and Dani Pedrosa, Marquez’s triumph showcased his unparalleled talent and ignited a trajectory of success that continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
