The event kicked off with tastings of Añejo tequila from Leyenda de Mexico Tequila, setting a celebratory tone for the morning. Guests were treated to a performance by Jorge Tamayo & Friends Musical Trio, accompanied by the legendary “El Gato Negro,” Ruben Ramos, whose music added a vibrant energy to the occasion.

Brunch was served family-style, with an array of dishes that will soon be featured at Tzintzuntzan, the restaurant’s new venture. The menu highlighted authentic Mexican flavors and gave attendees a preview of what to expect when the new brunch spot opens. As guests enjoyed their meal, Fonda San Miguel co-founder Tom Gilliland and Juan Miró of Miró Rivera Architects took the stage to share more about the new restaurant concept and the exciting developments in the restaurant’s future. They emphasized Fonda San Miguel’s commitment to maintaining its legacy while introducing fresh ideas to keep it at the forefront of Austin’s dining scene.
