Austin’s outdoor enthusiasts gathered at The Kitchen for a vibrant launch of The Trail Conservancy’s 2025 calendar. The mixer, spearheaded by Twilight Gala Co-Chairs Madeline Meyer and Anna Caitlyn Butler, brought together board members, donors and community advocates to preview an exciting year ahead.

The gathering highlighted key initiatives for 2025, with a particular focus on the upcoming Seaholm Waterfront Project and the anticipated Twilight on the Trail event. The Seaholm project aims to transform the historic Seaholm Power Plant intake facility into a vibrant public space along Lady Bird Lake, while Twilight on the Trail is an annual fundraising event featuring live music, local cuisine and community support for trail preservation. The evening exemplified the same community spirit that has defined the Butler Trail’s history since its inception.

The 10-mile urban pathway, meandering through the heart of Austin along Lady Bird Lake, stands as a testament to the city’s decades-long dedication to preserving and enhancing one of its most beloved public spaces. Established in the 1970s as the Town Lake Hike-and-Bike Trail, the now-named Ann and Roy Butler Trail has evolved from a modest dirt path into a premier urban greenspace, drawing millions of visitors each year.

The Trail Conservancy, which assumed primary stewardship in 2022, continues to honor this legacy with strategic improvements, ecological restoration and community-driven programming that ensure the Trail remains both a sanctuary for nature and a hub for recreation.

As patrons mingled during the evening’s event, they reflected on the transformative impact of the public-private partnership that has shaped the Butler Trail into a cornerstone of Austin’s identity. Their enthusiasm underscored a shared commitment to its future, as The Trail Conservancy unveiled plans to maintain accessibility and enhance the Trail’s natural beauty for generations to come.
