Vintage European cars, local art and plenty of race-inspired style filled Central Machine Works on Wednesday, May 6, as Manual Focus and TRIBEZA hosted Chrome & Culture: Car Show and Issue Release Party.

The free public event celebrated the release of TRIBEZA’s latest Community Issue, which features Manual Focus co-owner, founder and former BMX pro Aaron Ross on the cover. The issue highlights the people shaping Austin’s cultural ecosystem, from restaurateurs and artists to musicians, nonprofit leaders and community builders.

At Central Machine Works, that idea came to life through a curated showcase of vintage European cars, an auto-focused art gallery and live music from country singer-songwriter JD Clark. Guests moved through the East Austin brewery’s expansive event space, admiring the vintage vehicles, grabbing drinks and food, and talking with fellow car lovers.

The crowd leaned into the theme, arriving in leather, denim, sporty silhouettes and race car-inspired looks that added to the atmosphere. Between the cars, art and conversations, the evening felt like a fitting reflection of the community Ross has helped build through Manual Focus — one rooted in shared interests, creativity and connection.

Central Machine Works, known for its beer hall, pizza and large outdoor gathering space, has also brought back its live concert series for a second season, with free shows running through June 7 in its 12,000-square-foot beer garden.
