Austin’s creative community gathered May 28 for the VIP opening preview of “The Art of Banksy Without Limits,” a large-scale immersive exhibition dedicated to the anonymous British street artist whose provocative work has made him one of the most recognizable figures in contemporary art. Held at Fair Market in East Austin, the preview welcomed more than 165 guests, including media, influencers, tourism partners, community leaders and cultural stakeholders, for an early look at the limited-time exhibition before it opened to the public. The show is on view through Sept. 7, 2026.

The crowd reflected a wide range of Austin’s arts and culture scene, with attendees from Visit Austin, the Blanton Museum of Art, UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum, Mexic-Arte Museum, Downtown Austin Alliance, Zach Theater and other local organizations helping mark the exhibition’s arrival. Notable guests included musician Gina Chavez, celebrity hairstylist Ricky Hodge and Austin artists Uncle Roy and Spice.

“The Art of Banksy Without Limits” features more than 200 works, including certified original prints, photographs, lithographs, sculptures, murals and installations. The exhibition also includes immersive elements such as video mapping, an Infinity Room and a reimagined section inspired by Dismaland, Banksy’s dystopian pop-up theme park that opened in England in 2015.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors can explore Banksy’s visual language through some of his best-known motifs and themes, from anti-war imagery and social critique to the artist’s use of satire, stencil techniques and public space. Some mural works are reproduced for the exhibition by international street artists, offering a closer look at pieces that were originally created on city walls and public surfaces around the world.

The Austin stop follows previous presentations of the traveling exhibition across the United States, South America, Asia, Canada and Australia. According to exhibition organizers, more than 3 million people have visited the show worldwide.
