Ed Amaris – Pin Seekers Golf Club

“I have always loved golf,” shares Edgar “Ed” Amadis with a welcoming smile and a friendly handshake. We swung into his newly opened Pin Seekers Golf Lounge in North Austin to learn more about the popularity of utilizing simulator technology to enjoy this sport.

“Our goal is to be the go-to place where everyone can come in and enjoy endless hours of fun with the latest simulator technology–regardless of whether you’ve ever played before or not,” shares Amadis. “I’ve enjoyed seeing a growing love for golf amongst the general public over the last several years, but it can also be very intimidating for someone who is just starting out.”

A social hub

Amadis noted the booming interest in golf among women in particular during the Pandemic, and how this type of indoor environment offers an easy, no stress, casual lounge-style venue for anyone to come practice their swing. In fact, Amadis hosts ladies nights on Thursdays — pairing golf games with margaritas and plenty of socializing. He also plans to offer leagues for seniors and youth, noting that there’s really something for everyone and every skill level.

Amadis is an active member of the local community himself. Following his retirement from the military, Amadis became an instructor for the Marine Corps JROTC program at Hendrickson High School where he enjoys being a positive role model for students. His passion for bring individuals together in to this new social hub is evident. “At Pin Seeker’s Golf Lounge, our focus is on bringing a fun experience to all types of groups who stop in.”

Whether you’re an experienced golfer looking for somewhere to practice your swing on bad weather days, a novice just learning how to play, or a group of friends seeking something fun and novel to try, the newly opened Pin Seekers Golf Lounge has got you covered.

How does it work?

Guests can rent out personal bays by the hour for up to six players. Pin Seeker’s golf simulator features the Uneekor EYE XO and EYE XO 2 technology, along with some of the top software products in the game simulation industry. Pin Seeker’s will be using GSPro and The Golf Course (TGC) 2019.  With this technology, guests can practice their swing or play just about any course in the world. Choose from Pebble Beach, Torrey Pines, St. Andrews, etc.

Besides being able to play the game year-round, no matter the weather, golf simulators also help you work on your swing, stance, and other mechanics by capturing high-speed swing images to collect data parameters on how you currently play and how you can improve.

You can rent out a personal bay by the hour for up to six players, but there is also plenty of room for more friends to simply gather and hang to enjoy drink specials, beer, and wine.

More than just golf

In addition to golf, Pin Seeker’s offers a wide-range of virtual sporting options. Play hockey, baseball, soccer, football, frisbee golf, and even zombie dodgeball — all utilizing the large screens within your bay.
