Queer Eye Comes to Austin

The Fab Five posted a photo in front of the El Arroyo sign saying they’re in Texas to film their hit show

“Queer Eye” is here!

The cast of the hit Netflix show posted a photo in front of Austin’s famous El Arroyo sign on Wednesday, announcing they’re in Texas to film season 6.

“Grab a Texas-sized box of tissues y’all because the Fab 5 just arrived in the Lone Star State to film Queer Eye Season 6!” the Twitter post says, complete with a cowboy and cactus emoji.

The Queer Eye stars – food wine extraordinaire Antoni Porowski, fashion extraordinaire Tan France, culture and lifestyle extraordinaire Karamo Brown, design extraordinaire Bobby Berk and grooming extraordinaire Jonathan Van Ness – are all in the photo, posing, smiling and looking fabulous. The guys are known as the Fab 5. On Instagram, they each posed separately with a personalized message on the sign and expressed appreciation to El Arroyo. “Thank you for helping us with our big announcement,” a comment on the sign’s feed says.

On the show, which is a reboot of a Bravo show called “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” the guys step in to change the lives of deserving people with makeovers, home renovations, cooking tips, life coaching and all-around fabulousness. Tissues are, in fact, usually good to have around when watching the show.

The El Arroyo sign, which is in front of the Tex Mex restaurant on West 5th Street, had its own message welcoming the crew to town: “Queer Eye, the most fabulous thing in Texas since chaps.”

The guys added some good news for fans in their post: “oh and P.S. Queer Eye Season 5 is coming real soon.”

You can almost detect a Texas accent. Welcome, guys.
