Recently, the TRIBEZA team traded our usual routines for a few days of inspiration, collaboration and Hill Country calm during a planning retreat at Rancho Moonrise, which offered a perfect setting that felt like an escape into the countryside.

Just 20 minutes from downtown Austin, the drive out is quick and easy, but as soon as you arrive at Rancho Moonrise, the atmosphere changes completely. At this 36-acre ranch setting, we were welcomed by adorable donkeys, expansive skies, big oak trees and an immediate sense of peace. Being in nature encouraged us to slow down and connect.

Rancho Moonrise’s stylish ranch property

Rancho Moonrise blends the country charm of a Texas ranch with colorful Southwestern-inspired design touches. From the neon signage and curated lounge spaces to the open, grassy fields where horses roamed, the entire property feels equal parts stylish retreat and laid-back getaway.

One of the highlights of our stay was having access to The Lodge, which served as the perfect headquarters for the working segment of our retreat. The space gave us plenty of room to spread out, brainstorm, workshop ideas and map out plans for the months ahead. As we gathered around to discuss editorial calendars, creative initiatives and future events, The Lodge offered a comfortable environment that helped make our long planning session feel energizing.

Cozy cabins and safari tents

Rancho Moonrise offers a mix of beautifully designed cabins and safari tents for an elevated glamping experience. Every member of our team had their own private over-night accommodation, which made the retreat particularly restful.

The cabins are carefully designed with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ranch, comfortable queen beds, air conditioning and private covered decks that invite you to sit outside with a coffee in the morning or unwind after sunset.

Beyond the cabins, the safari tents add another layer of charm to the experience. Spacious and stylish, the tents feature comfortable beds, climate control, outdoor fire pits and thoughtful amenities that make the experience feel elevated while still connected with nature.

A retreat designed for creativity and connection

Of course, our retreat wasn’t all work. The late afternoon transitioned into a fun poolside hang, where margaritas in hand and sunshine overhead made for some of our favorite moments of the trip. The pool area — complete with lounge chairs, a hot tub and outdoor showers — was  one of the team’s favorite gathering spots.

Our evening on the ranch was spent in the quiet surroundings. We took advantage of a few cozy seating areas for conversation. The property creates an atmosphere that naturally brings people together in a more organic way than a traditional hotel or conference setting could.
